Re: Triac over ruuning X axis on home
Turns out to of been a short on the x axis stepper neg and one of the signal lines. Obviously repeated use had flexed the conduit and cable to the point the insulation was damaged.

Triac over ruuning X axis on home
I seem to like Triacs with issues. I have a PC model of 1997 vintage, serial number TR19057G. I've just got it set up running VR Milling version 5 via its USB upgrade as a VME. Have a strange issue where when homing the X axis it does not want to stop running and goes to the point of stall. The home...

Re: atc carusel only moves clockwise
Hi, yes same ones i fitted to sort the coolant pump issue out. RS P/N 616-7682. They were fitted on the carousel motor wires (at the relay end), yellow and white which are 240v wires with either being live depending on direction selected by the CCW Relay. My next step would of been to fit a solid st...

Re: atc carusel only moves clockwise
Got this sorted also. After taking the CCW relay out I found that the negative terminal on the control side had been removed and also an noise filter had been added onto one of the terminals. I sort of suspected this was a work around to a previously unfixed problem so I returned the wiring back to ...

Re: triac coolant on/off produces error
Ok.
This got sorted then. I bought the modern equivalent of the suppressor circuit suggested by RS after entering the original p/n and replaced the one on the motor and also fitted a second to the COR relay.
Problem solved and it works perfectly now.

Wanted Triac covers for ATC
Hi Long shot I know but does anyone have any covers the the triac ATC knocking around? Mines a white machine 1997 and its missing the main ATC cover and also the cover that fits over the ATC arm (the bit that lowers). I guess I would even take loan of some so I can measure them up and get some knock...

Re: atc carusel only moves clockwise
i'll check exactly what version but I literally only bought the software 2 weeks ago so sort of think it will be the most up to date release of VR Milling Ver5.

Re: triac atc pull stud dims
I found out what the pull studs were by measuring off some dimensions on an on-screen photo of the triac spindle and finding a match on ebay. Pull Studs specs which i've tested and work perfectly. Thread.: M12x1.75 Shoulder Angle: 30 Deg Full Length: 43mm (Knob dia: ~11mm) Fitting dia.: 12.5mm From ...

Re: triac coolant on/off produces error
Hi steve. I think the new pump is the same rating, its 1/8hp. I will fit another suppressor circuit at the relay end then, the current one is fitted at the actual motor terminals. The usb cable and pump power don't share any common trunking but i'll get eyes on where the power to the pump actually r...

Re: atc carusel only moves clockwise
Hi I've literally just put a brand new copy of VR milling on. Its a VMC that's had a USB upgrade at some point in the past but i got it without a computer/software, hence the new copy of VR milling. In terms of control do you mean which drive boards etc its using? Baldour I believe. The software mus...

triac coolant on/off produces error
the triac i recently bought came with a siezed coolant pump. swapped it out today with one from rotagrip. it works but 50% of the time when switching it on or off the vr milling software returns a 1227 error and often disconnects from the machine. the relay is operating fine. and its just the on/off...
