Re: Triac blowing fuses?

Hi Roy,
Can you send me a picture of the area where the fuses are blowing. this will give me an idea of what version of pcb you have. It should be relatively easy to fix.

Re: Cassette tapes

Hi Robyn, I can repair the cassette unit. The USB idea is a non starter. Im not familiar with the Denford text editor. I use 'Coolterm' which is free on the web. From what I can remember when I used to test these things, the controller must see an <STX> then the command/program then<ETX> So for exam...

Re: Cassette tapes

Hi Robyn,
Did you get the tape I sent you & did it work?
I can repair the cassette unit if its not working or I could supply a refurbished service exchange unit.

Re: Easiturn/error message

Hi, If the display diagnostic display is showing 'O/T'S: -X+, Z+, X-, Z', then it must be either a power supply fault on the controller or a break in the overtravel switch 'Common'. You can check the power supply first by taking the lid off the controller & you should see 3 green LEDs lit on the top...

Re: Easiturn 3 Zero Datum

Hi, There is no way to bypass the datum routine in the software. However, if you locate the Z axis homing switch then you can trace where the cable goes to, IE a terminal strip somewhere on the machine. You can then disconnect & bypass it with a piece of wire to fool it through a datum sequence. If ...

Re: need help 1986 triac vdu, crt and monitor failure

Hi, The vdu signal to the crt & the external monitor is derived from 2 different circuits & is switched when the tool path graphics are selected. This is why the external monitor works in some modes. If you are familiar with electronics I can help you find the fault. I know the Triac very well as I ...

Re: Easimill mini audio tape Brand that fits pnc3 controller?

The tapes are unique to the cassette player & will accept no other tape. They are now obsolete.
However, I have new tapes available.

Let me know if you are interested..

Re: easimill conversion to mach 3

Hi,
I can repair the tape drive as well as anything on the controller. I used to work for the company (NEE) who built them.
The inverter is used to drive the spindle motor. The stepper motors are driven from the 3 drives situated under the VDU screen on the controller.

Re: PNC3- 5volts power supply at 2.5 volts

Im confident that the problem will be on the power card & not the Toroidal transfomer. However, if you need to check it, here are the voltages you should expect on the transformer connector. Pins 8 & 9 = 10vac Pins 10 & 11 = 12vac Pins 7 & 12 = 7.5vac If they are OK, try This: Unplug the 4 pin VDU c...

Re: BUTTON 55 PRESSED ?

Hi Martin, I am an expert on all the early Denford controllers (Easimill,Easilathe & Triacs) as I worked for many years for the original manufacturer North East Electronics. In my experience, the chips controlling the keyboard used to fail causing this message. You could try unplugging the 2 connect...
