orac spindle count per rev ( reflective disk type ) ?

anyone know the number of pulses i should get per rev from the opto sensor ( reflective disk type ) on the orac
is it 100 ?
and is the index 1 or 2 pulses

trying to help a friend convert
and dont have a reflective type encoder fitted to mine

Orac Toolchanger dc motor spec ?

anyone have info on the dc motor used in the orac toolchanger i'm looking at supplying a seperate dc supply , so wondered what volts / current rating it is i presume the dc motor cover can be removed , although removing the 2 grub screws , i still cant slide the cover off but just in case iv'e misse...

for Orac Lathe
and how to set the correct pulse , i have a feeling either the sensors not aligned or the timing is out , so looking for general info

easymill 3 z axis fail ( red light )

have an easymill 3 showing the 2nd red light down on the z axis digiplan driver , i have swapped the driver for the y axis and the fault still shows on the z axis , so must be on the machine somewhere , any pointers please anyone .

are you using a ridgid tapping chuck ?

if not make sure your feed rate is as near the tpi of the thread your tapping

the file would need to be imported into a 3d drawing package and then manipulated to produce gcode etc .

Don't forget steppers loose torque the faster they run .
so it falls off dramaticly once it reaches it's spec'd limits

if you need torque slow the axis down etc

also their may be other switches connected as if they are keyboard switches etc , hence why when you unplug the origional keyboard you still get the same error . other than that it would appear to have a faulty pcb , difficult to trace without a diagram . but the chances are it's a short across the ...

Keyboard error , usually means a stuck key somewhere . so check your keys , especialy the more often used ones it's a pain but the best way is with a multimeter across the contacts of each key , as they may be more than one , and in the absence of a diagram etc . disconnect the keyboard from the pcb...

Q32 is the board designation ,
their in to220 type cases , on the main pcb theirs 2 types so presume NPN & PNP types
